American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)
Newton County received $21,709,962 in funds from the American Rescue Plan Act, which was passed by Congress in March of 2021 as an economic stimulus bill.
The bill was designed to speed up economic recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Newton County Board of Commissioners are utilizing its allotment of funds to help those in need through the following grant programs:
- Newton County Emergency Rental and Mortgage Program (Concluded)
- Newton County Youth Commission (Application process concluded)
- Newton County Non-Profit Assistance Grant (Concluded)
- Newton County Low Income Senior Home Repair Program
- Newton County Small Business Assistance Grant
Newton County is also utilizing ARPA funds to stimulate the County’s revenue recovery via the following funding:
