Newton County residents can recycle their Christmas trees for no cost at the Newton County Bypass Recycling Center after the holiday.

The recycling center, located at 11575 Covington Bypass Road, Covington, will be taking the live trees from Wednesday, Dec. 27 through close of business on Wednesday, Jan. 10. The trees will be recycled and used for mulch in landscaping beds at the landfill or other county buildings.

The Bypass road Recycling Center and all Newton County Convenience Centers are open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and closed on Sundays and Mondays.
