The Newton County Board of Commissioners in Covington, Georgia is seeking candidates for the Human Resources & Risk Management Director position. The Human Resources & Risk Management Director performs work of extensive complexity in directing the Human Resources & Risk Management Department. This position is responsible for directing, planning, and coordinating the full range of Human Resources and Risk Management functions of the County.
Completion of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university with major course work in Public or Business Administration, Employment Law, or a related field, including courses in personnel management, employment law, general management, or other related fields. Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
Six years of professional level work experience in a public agency Human Resources Office at the managerial level, with at least three years at the Department Director level.
Significant experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) required.
Designation as a certified Human Resources professional through SHRM, HRCI, GLGPA or IPMA is strongly preferred.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Windows, and Excel computer systems.
Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license.
