Newton County Board of Elections and Registration has completed the risk limiting audit.
The risk limiting audit on all votes cast for U.S. President in Newton County will take place at the Newton County Board of Elections and Registration Office located at 1113 Usher Street, Suite 103, Covington, Georgia 30014. The hours of the audit are as follows:
Friday, November 13, 2020 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
Saturday, November 14, 2020 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Sunday, November 15, 2020 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Monday, November 16, 2020 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
The public is invited.
For voters’ convenience, Newton County Board of Elections & Registration office has two secure drop boxes for submitting completed Absentee Ballots. The locations for the drop boxes are the North Entrance of the Newton County Administration Building, 1113 Usher Street, Covington, Georgia, 30014 and the Westside Precinct, 3612 Salem Road (Kroger Shopping Plaza), Covington, Georgia, 30016. Ballots must be received by 7:00 P.M. Election Day and must be returned to the issuing county in order to be counted.
The Newton County Board of Elections serves as the Superintendent of Elections for Newton County and is responsible for seeing that all voter registration and the conduct of elections comply with the laws, rules and regulations set forth in the Georgia Election Code and the Rules and Regulations promulgated by the State Election Board.
It is our mission to conduct voter registration and voting in Newton County in an efficient and trustworthy manner.
Voters may submit an absentee ballot application online through the Georgia Secretary's State Absentee Ballot Request Portal. Requirements to submit a request online include a valid Georgia Driver's License or Identification Card and being registered to vote in the State of Georgia.
